Dante’s Inferno Visualization Handmade Book

This was a group project requiring students to create a visualization of the nine levels of Hell from “Dante’s Inferno”. This take translated the nine levels into a laser cut, screen printed book that used a traditional hand lettering style with modern ornamentation. Each page in the book represents a circle of hell as depicted in “Dante’s Inferno”. The aesthetics of this book parallel the story and tie in the different levels of hell into the actual form of the book. The physicality reflects the physical nature of Dante’s Inferno itself.
